How do you turn an old fire house into a home? With a big imagination and lots of elbow grease. Thankfully, interior designer and real estate developer Anthony Carrino has both in abundance. He bought Hook and Ladder #3 in Jersey City (built way back in 1896) with his father a few years ago. Anthony’s plan was to breathe new life into the old building while preserving its historical charm.

That’s exactly what he did with his signature style of blending the old with the new into amazing designs. Every room comes to life with a color or a pattern while maintaining the building’s vintage character. Check out Anthony’s home tour, and he’ll walk and talk you through the space, including his comfy home office, his kitchen built for entertaining and, yes, even the working fire pole.
