The Junior League of Detroit’s 2018 Designers’ Showhouse was the historic Charles T. Fisher Mansion located in the Boston-Edison district of Detroit. Dozens of illustrious designers and landscapers transformed the 16,000-square-foot English Tudor-style home into a stylistic showcase of the latest trends from around the country. Designers who participated in the event brought their own unique perspective on how to preserve the vintage aspects of the home while pushing the boundaries of modern design.
The home was purchased by actor and author Hill Harper and after the event each room needed to be functional and cater to the everyday tasks of real life. Harper’s main architect on the project was Chandra Moore of coG-Studio, and the two worked closely to ensure they could make the home a beautiful retreat for Harper and his family. As Moore puts it, “No matter what era you’re in, you need pieces that create an idea of togetherness.” The result was a family-centered spectacle that’s perfectly poised to capture the hearts of a whole new generation of Midwesterners.
